Lessons Appointed for Use This Week SUNDAY MORNINGS
The central act of worship at Holy Communion is our weekly celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Each Sunday, we celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 7:30, 9 and 11:15 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m. The 7:30 a.m. service is a traditional Rite One liturgy, with traditional language and without hymns. The 9 and 11:15 a.m. services are both Rite Two (contemporary language), with choirs and a special chapel experience for children. Nursery care is available for the 9 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. services.
TAIZE EUCHARIST
At 5:30 p.m. on the fi rst and third Sundays of each month, we off er a Taize Eucharist. Taize is an ecumenical monastic community in France, and the style of worship practiced there has drawn thousands of young people from across the globe since 1940. Taize worship is characterized by simple, peaceful chants and ample time for silent prayer.
CELTIC EUCHARIST
At 5:30 p.m. on the second, fourth and fifth Sundays of each month, we offer a Celtic Eucharist. Our Celtic worship is drawn from the liturgical tractions of Iona and Northumbria in Scotland, and the music at these services can be contemplative, lively and haunting - even dancelike. The prayers are at once earthy, holy and inclusive.
WEEKDAYS
In addition to our Sunday worship off erings, we pray the Daily Office of Morning Prayer at 8:10 a.m. each Monday through Friday in Quilling Chapel. These brief services from The Book of Common Prayer are built around recitation of psalms and readings from Scripture. Evening Prayer is held each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., also in the chapel. Each Wednesday at noon, Holy Eucharist is celebrated with optional laying on of hands and prayers for healing. These services are all held in the chapel.
CHILDCARE FOR INFANTS & TODDLERS
As Church of the Holy Communion continues to grow, we are determined to provide the fi nest space anywhere for child care and children’s programs. We have new child care facilities on
the second fl oor right down the hall from the church offices. Being nurtured with care in a loving, trust-fi lled environment is one way young children develop trust in the predictability
of events. That loving care serves as the foundation for future faith development. The Infant and Toddler Center is available for infants up to 4-year-olds 15 minutes prior to most worship services and during Wednesday evening programs.

CHILDREN'S CHAPEL
A special child-centered service with music and story based on the liturgy of the day is held every Sunday during the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services (in summer during the 10 a.m. service) for children ages 3 – 7. It provides an environment that enhances spiritual growth and prepares children to better understand the worship service. During the opening hymn, the crucifer stands at the steps leading to the altar as the children gather and process to the Children’s Chapel, located upstairs in Room 309. The children are accompanied by the
children’s chapel leader and adult volunteers. The children
return to the Eucharist during the passing of the Peace. All
are welcome to join with our youngest members to celebrate
the word of God.
